Khazad-dûm
04:07
|

Hidden 'neath the Misty Mountains
An ancient hall stands proud
Glory of the Dwarven kingdom
Mining jewels and mithril from the ground
The greatest smiths in Middle-Earth
Forging arms for lords of war
Shining brightly in the darkness
But now, their hammers ring no more
What was once a place of honor,
Now a bleak and empty tomb
The bodies of our kinsmen lying where they fell
In the great halls of Khazad-dûm
Walls glimmering by torch-light
Silver veins reflecting bright
Deeds carved into pillars of stone
We shall one day reclaim our home!
Malt beer, and ripe meat off the bone
Feasting in our glorious mountain home
Warriors of Moria condemned to a brutal fate
They delved to deep into the earth and found evil lying in wait!
"The Dwarves delved to greedily and too deep.
You know what they awoke in the darkness...
Shadow and flame!"

The Exodus of Thráin
03:12

Since the days of the Deathless, we've mined here deep
Beneath the mountain Celebdil by the Mirrormere
Centuries passed in prosperity
But the monster of Morgoth forced us to leave
A foul creature emerged from the depths
Evil rising from the ground
Father and son met it in battle
And both were stricken down
A terror without a name
It came to be known as Durin's Bane
A demon of shadow and flame
At grave cost Khazad-dûm would be reclaimed
Durin and Náin were slain by the beast
The crown passed to Thráin, a lost people to lead
He journeyed east through land of man and elf
Leaving behind the throne of Dwarrowdelf
A heavy burden to bear
Across countless miles they fared
The fate of his people in his hands
Searching for a new homeland
To the Lonely Mountain they came
Not yet a place of fame
The Arkenstone he claimed
The symbol of the Durin name

Erebor
03:12
|

Once long ago, we ruled far below
The Lonely Mountain; another lost home
The wrath of Durin's bane drove us away
But the home of the Dwarves would once again fall prey
Thráin took refuge at Erebor
The glory of the Dwarves would be known once more
A stronghold full of riches, all a king could desire
Until one day, it fell to dragon-fire.
The king under the mountain he fell on that day
No man woman or child was spared from the flames!
We've suffered this before, and we will survive again
Beaten but not broken is the line of Durin!
